Pink Pig to Endorse Russ Diamond

The famous Flying Pink No-Pay-Raise Pig Bus will visit Lebanon County tomorrow to endorse Russ Diamond's candidacy for the Republican nomination for Representative in the General Assembly in the 101st District.

The pink icon of Pennsylvania's reform revolution will arrive in Lebanon in the vicinity of 8th Avenue and Cumberland Street at 6:00 a.m. Handler Gene Stilp will be on hand for a photo opportunity and to personally deliver the endorsement to Diamond.

At 6:30 a.m. Stilp, Diamond and others will launch a walk across the 101st district along Route 422. The twelve-mile walk will make its way throughout the morning to the other end of the district and will end at Lingle Avenue in Palmyra.

"Putting Russ Diamond in the state House will be a giant leap forward for the 101st district and Pennsylvania," said Stilp. "An endorsement from our pink friend is a no-brainer. Russ will advance the reform agenda further in Harrisburg than anyone else is capable of. He has the knowledge, experience and leadership skills required to help give Pennsylvanians the government they're entitled to."

The No-Pay-Raise Pig was instrumental in rallying Pennsylvanians in the fight to repeal the pay raise in 2005 and has made appearances all across the Commonwealth in support of integrity and reform.

The walk is reminiscent of a walk taken by Stilp on April 12, 2006 from former Senate Majority Leader Chip Brightbill's home to Harrisburg to protest his acceptance of unconstitutional per diems. 101st district incumbent Mauree Gingrich is taking both the legislative pension and health care plans, which are prohibited by the constitution.

"I've had plenty of exercise lately knocking on doors in residential neighborhoods," said Diamond. "but I can always use more. Tomorrow we'll move our fight for integrity and change from Elm Street to the Main Street of this district."

Voters are encouraged to join Diamond and Stilp for a portion, or the entire length, of the walk through the district. The walk is expected to last three to four hours.
